Do Not Recommend Whirlpool!

I am not happy with this refrigerator at this point. Tomorrow, September 14th will be a week since this brand new refrigerator has been installed, and the ice maker does not work! The ice maker did not come with the refrigerator, and was an added charge! I replaced a 16 year old refrigerator because the person who inspected my house recommended a service person to come out to fix the ice maker and water dispenser that was not functioning. I chose a new refrigerator without bells and whistles because of the age of the refrigerator. Now I have to waste my valuable time on a Saturday for a technician to come out to figure the reason for the malfunction of the ice maker! I also spoke to my plumber to find out if it could be a plumbing issue, which he said probably not. Also, the refrigerator is brand new, and he did not want to touch it until a technician looked at it. I would not recommend nor buy a Whirlpool product again! This is not acceptable to me as a customer, and the refrigerator is brand new! Do a product check before the appliance leaves the factory! This is also a special order because I requested black!

I bought this about a month ago and have had to adjust to not having as much shelf space as I had with my old refrigerator. The shelves on the door are shorter and deeper and thus "eat into" the space of the refrigerator shelves. I cannot get as much on the shelves as I am used to. Also the drawer that goes all the way across has continually kept falling out of it track and falls onto the shelf below it. Otherwise I like the black color and the ice maker really does a great job producing ice. My dealer is coming today to check out the drawer problem.

I have been using side by side refrigerators until I purchased this one with the freezer on top and cold storage below. Lots of room in both and nice shelf space. Forget the automatic ice cubes and drinking water. Less noise and no cost involved with buying expensive water filters.
